My name is Justin Radford, I have been drumming for ten years and playing music for seventeen. In addition to drumset, I have played almost every sort of standard western percussion instrument, from the marching realm to the concert hall. Timpani, marimbas, cymbals, woodblocks, marching tenors; I've done it all.
In addition to drumming, I am also a classically trained pianist and in the process of learning electric bass guitar. Being a continual student of music theory, my songwriting credentials go back nine years. To top that all off, I am also an amateur recording engineer, having received my Music Technology Certificate from Clackamas Community College, on top of my Associates of Science in Small Business Management.
I have been taught by many high class percussionists, including Larry Baird and Charlie Doggett. My experience ranges from school marching bands, jazz bands, and concert bands, to playing alternative music in the local bar circuit. I have released my first solo album as well, a rock opera titled Off the Spring.
And for those that are interested, my favorite drummers are Ian Paice, Keith Moon, Mitch Mitchell, Ringo Starr, Louie Belleson, Gene Krupa, and Barriemore Barlow. Obviously I am a huge Classic Rock fan, in addition to being appreciative of swing, classical,bebop, baroque, funk, and pop.
